We've been camping at Price Park for years and our only gripe is that the Ranger rarely/never drives around during quiet hours (After 10pm) to police the Campground. - All it takes is one rowdy group who's voices/music echo throughout the Campground.

Gorgeous spot with lake views and access. We hung a hammock up and watched the paddlers go by. We even put our own paddle board in right from the edge of camp. The trail around the lake is two spots away and the boat house felt like summer camp with its little snack counter. Ground is uneven and knotty at times. If it rains it can be slippery. The bathroom is a bit of a walk. But these are really the only complaints I can think of! We loved this spot and will be coming back.

I love this campground. I wish there were more level sites and things were better maintained. There is so much that needs to me done with regard to routine maintenance like grass cutting, weed eating, updated bathrooms with more showers. I dont mean to be negative but if things are not dealt with there is going to be serious issues before long. We were on site F-10 and this site was fairly level and the picnic table and fire pit were in good shape. Other sites had broken picnic tables and benches and downed trees that had obviously been there for a long period of time. It seems funding for National Parks and services is woefully underdone. Please keep these National Parks better maintained so average families and citizens can enjoy them as they were originally intended.

bathrooms were clean, showers were hot, the campgrounds were beautiful. We enjoyed it very much.

The access to the lake was blocked by fallen trees and floating logs, making it almost impossible to get my kayak into the water. Hurricane Debby brought a flood to my vacation causing me to leave early, but other than that the trip was ok.

My son and I had a wonderful time on campsite A13. I t was close to the facilities and the lake.

Great spot to camp at cooler elevation, hiking, lake paddling, and near town

Close to great hiking and downtown blowing rock. Campground is better for small rigs or tent camping. Do not recommend pull through F loop sites for large rigs, instead look for a back in site or larger pull through in E loop.

Arrived late (midnight) Thursday night to find a car parked in my reserved lake spot. Fortunately, there were people at the registration office (probably usually not there at such a late hour?). After unsuccessfully trying to locate the owner of the car (there was a camper parked next to the car, but no one in it), the person helping me gave me an even better site by the lake. It had a beautiful view and better trees for my hammock set up! Site A19 is highly recommended if you can get it. I had planned to move to another site the next day (lake side sites were only available for Thursday night). My Friday night site was perfect for hammocks also. Site B22. A shallow stream appeared by the parking space during a rainstorm, but it was not a problem hopping over it. It disappeared quickly after the rain. The bathrooms were close and very clean and the showers (I drove to those) were clean as well. On Friday morning a group of volunteers went around cleaning up, trimming weeds and even cleaning the number signs on the posts! Everyone I met was very friendly and helpful.

Site B26 is spacious and fairly secluded, near the water spigot, restrooms, and trails. This loop is dark at night, in the trees, and marginal for solar panels is.
@CharlesB538317 · Camped on Jul 11, 2024 at Campsite #E6
My site in particular wasnt great as I had no privacy because of the placement of the sites. Tent sites are way better with some of them being tucked away. My site was great for solar though. The hiking experience is epic. I will definitely be back to explore the trails again
@SarahD2854125 · Camped on Jul 7, 2024 at Campsite #A9
We stayed at A9 and A10. Each site only has 1 parking space. A10 did not have a tent pad. The sites were cleaned but were in great need of grading and repair. The picnic tables were falling apart. The bathrooms were clean but also falling apart. This is a great campground and lake in need of maintenance and refurbishment.

Bathrooms need updating badly. Most sites too close together and too close to road. Location was excellent for hiking and dining out in Blowing Rock. Check in was easy and staff friendly.

Our campsite was very nice - spacious, clean, shaded, and flat. The tent area was gravel. Bathroom/ showers were kept clean.

The only thing that was a little annoying was that we had three separate incidents when people NOT camping with us ( and NOT even camping at adjoining sites) walked down to the lake's edge to fish and play in the water. This wasn't really a big issue, but we booked this particular site because of the lake view and the little privacy it afforded. I understand this is a public lake, but it felt a bit awkward having strangers wander down by our tent and block our ability to use the small access to the lake directly in view of our campsite. Waited for a year to catch a choice site open in loop A. 5 stars for beautiful lake and campground. But lesson learned. Might as well camp up in the woods and just enjoy the lake from afar. People are less likely to go stomping through your campsite for a better view of more woods than they are to plow through the brush and crowd into a 6 foot space of waterfront while you're sitting there trying to watch the sunrise.
@juliew9220173 · Camped on Jun 25, 2024 at Campsite #A24
We only went for one night, thankfully. I thought we were getting a water view but there was no view. The sites have trees in between them which was the one good thing. The bathrooms were disgusting. I left wanting to hose myself off. The tent pad was also not level. It wasn't a good experience for us sadly.
@JesseGD70726E9 · Camped on Jun 24, 2024 at Campsite #A8
Wonderful campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Site was a tad small for our little trailer; probably all of A loop is best for tents or car camping regardless of what website says. This site barely had room for our 18 trailer connected to a small pickup truck. But in all other ways, a great site.
@AngieY666EB086 · Camped on Jun 20, 2024 at Campsite #A25
We were at site A25 right on the lake which is very nice. The bigger parking spot is great and the site offers a couple points to access the lake. A couple trees are spaced perfectly for hammocks. Its a nice site BUT the picnic table and fire pit area are in an odd spot on the campsite and surrounded by roots that make it difficult to walk and be in that area. The A loop bathrooms are pretty rough. This very popular park should be doing much better in this department. D Loop bathhouses are nice. Kayaking on the lake was fun. We were there in mid June and the weather was perfect! I even had to wear a jacket in the mornings. I look forward to visiting Julian Price Campground every summer!

We always enjoy camping at Price Park, and this latest time was no exception. If pulling your Rig around E loop, be aware that the rhododendron is very close to the road on the right side and you may rub tire sidewalls on the stone border on the left. Our friends cut and blew a tire on their trailer pulling through at sites E6 through E9.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
