Great campground in a beautiful setting. The camp host, Deb, is a delightful and helpful lady. Five stars for her for sure.

The campground is small but nice. We didnt enjoy our stay and left a day early. The area and host were good it was too much traffic. Non stop people coming to use the bathrooms and throwing out trash. They were not staying there.

Deb is a great host. When the water pump went down, she offered bottled water to campers. She was also a good source of information about the surrounding areas. She's a keeper. Also, the camp grounds were in good order.

Island Park is a more rustic campground, no tent pads or gravel table area, but the setting is beautiful. The pit toilet is well maintained and exceptionally clean. The road getting to the campground can be pretty rough if it hasn't been graded in a while. Lots of hiking nearby and stream fishing for brown and brook trout.

Site was great but too close to the next next site. Sites # 3&4. Other sites were great looking !

Our stay at Island Park was fantastic! The scenery is amazing, its quiet, the camp host is friendly, and the bathroom (pit toilet) was super clean. Its close to town (Tensleep) and to West Tensleep Lake so we were able to explore both. We will definitely go back!

Always a wonderful camping experience at Island Park. The bathroom facilities we spotless, it was very obvious that a lot of hard work had gone into the daily maintenance by the camp host.

My site was close to the Tensleep Creek. Campground was very clean very well kept. Was a remarkable stay.

The two miles to the campground is horrible. Road is hard but very potholed. Needs a grader.

Beautiful campground. The hosts were very nice and responsive to my last minute questions. Clean bathrooms. Thank you!

Great place to camp. Fishing is a bit tough without waders.

This campground sits along the creek across from a beautiful meadow, where deer and moose are often seen. There are several wonderful hiking trails nearby. The creek holds a large number of fiesty brook trout.

The campground is located on a beautiful meadow and creek, and every campsite is large and shaded. The bathrooms were very well-maintained and clean. The campground host, Deb, was very friendly and looked out for us and other campers when poor weather was expected. We will absolutely be back to enjoy this terrific campground!

Lovely location on a creek, with a nice walking trail. Camp ground was clean and the host was excellent! Absolutely love this location!

Had a great time at this park, the weather was great. We saw moose almost every night. We were in site 5 with a 35ft 5th wheel we had plenty of space. It was difficult parking it due to narrow roads and trees, but I was able to do so eventually. We appreciated the water and toilets it allowed us to stay in place without having to go dump our tanks

We stayed at #9 this time. We really enjoyed our stay but if you can get a site along the creek where your views are unobstructed.

We didn't have an on site host so couldn't buy firewood, however could drive about 3 miles to another campground to get it. Our campsite was clean and so were the restrooms. We like to stay here because we always get to see wildlife close by, Moose, Elk, Deer, Coyote and an abundance of birds.

Camp host Les was courteous and helpful. I was pleased to find how clean he keeps the camp, including the toilets. He even waxes the picnic tables! Given that he manages three camps in this way, he certainly deserves a hefty raise of salary.

Camp host was very friendly!!!! Very clean bathrooms!! Great camping spots. Felt very safe!!! Several amazing hikes close by. Saw 5 moose. Nothing prettier than the Big horn mountains!!!

This smaller camp site is wonderful. Our site was right next to the creek with views to the east. The entire campsite is quieter than most others in this area given its distance from the highway with the only passing traffic being to and from West Tensleep lake area. We did see a moose and some deer near the campsite. Fishing was not bad given the low flow of the creek. We will camp at Island Park again.
@TinaB242 · Camped on Aug 17, 2021 at Campsite #5
This campground is nice because there are very few spots (~10?) so there aren't as many people at camp. However, it is close to a gravel road that is pretty busy so it can be very dusty. The camp host was friendly. Unfortunately, there were 6 dogs in the campground without leashes during our stay, Two of them belonged to the camp host. One of his dogs was older and didn't stray far from his site but the other younger dog always ran across the road and frequently meandered into other camp sites. Four of the other dogs belonged to other campers. Two of the dogs growled at us when walking thru the campsite. We had to chase off 3 of the dogs that came into our campsite. This is a recipe for disaster, there are leash laws in campsites for a reason. If you don't want to have your dogs on a leash you should choose dispersed camping sites and not state park campgrounds. Shame on the camp host for not enforcing leash laws.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
