One of our favorite places to camp in Colorado.

Arapaho Bay is a beautiful area. The campground is well equipped and our loop, the Moraine Loop was very well maintained by the campground host. Our only issue was the closeness of the sites. We were in site 42 and there were about 5 sites there that were extremely close together. The parking area for the site to our south was only about 10 feet or so from where our popup trailer was sitting.

We enjoyed our three night stay in site 17. Our friends were in 16. We had plenty of room, our 27 ft fifth wheel fit with no problems. The site was pretty level too. The bathrooms were kept clean by the camper hosts.Other campers didn't have great camping etiquette and would walk through site 16 to get to the bathroom. There was one camper who ran his generator from 8 am to 8 pm. That was a little annoying.

this is a great campground in a beautiful location! Our site was great and the facilities were in great condition. The bathrooms were clean and access to potable water was convenient!

Stunning Location, But Be Prepared for BugsWe recently camped at ARAPAHO BAY ROARING FORK, 060, and I have to say, the location was absolutely stunning. The scenery was beautiful, with a nearby inlet and waterfall that not only added to the view but also drowned out any noise, so it felt peaceful even though it wasnt totally private. Everyone around us kept to themselves, which was nice.The campground was very clean and well-maintained, and the vault toilets were well-stocked and about as clean as you can expect. The biggest issue we faced was the bugs. The mosquitoes and flies were insane and definitely impacted our experience. We ended up setting up a screened tent, and the kids spent most of their time in there to avoid getting eaten alive.Unfortunately, there was a fire ban, so we couldnt have a campfire, and it poured rain the first night. But even with all the drama, we still had an amazing time. I just wish we had more time to enjoy it, and we cant wait to go back.

Clean restrooms. Many sites have no shade. View is gorgeous

Excellent campsite with lots of options right on the lake. Clean bathrooms and private sites. Good families and couples.

Loved this campground, close to the lake and close to RMNP

The area is beautiful and there is great paddleboarding but the mosquitos were the worst I have experienced in Colorado. You can't even sit outside - no matter what time of day. There are large marsh bogs adjacent to the lake that most likely cause this. The site was very private and had a path to one of the only semi-private beach areas in the campground so that was nice. No views from the site though. There was also a bear roaming the campground. The bugs ruined the experience honestly. They were really bad.

Jen was a great host. Our site was great (55) and probably had the best view of the RV sites. The road getting to the campground is the only negative (washboard very rough road).

Weather was very nice. Facilities aka vault toilet was okay, weve had better. Site was very close to neighbors with no privacy. Mosquitoes were everywhere. We had a competition on who got bight the most and my daughter won with over 120.

Site 4 was a very nice and shady. It was busy being at the entrance to all the other locations in Arapaho Bay and near the entrance to the ranch, as well as Monarch lake, but had quick access to the bathrooms and potable water. A great place for kids/families as was apparent there were a ton of kids around in the loop. Probably less so if you're looking for "quiet" and/or direct access to the water, but you can backtrack to the bridge to the south which is super close to gain access to the water with a light watercraft, down to the boat ramp at Roaring Fork if you need to set up with your vehicle, or quick access is about half a mile away at the west side of Moraine. Host was nice and helpful with info. There were plenty of bugs of course, and we had Moose wander through the campsite, so keep that in mind. Overall would recommend!

We stayed one night, the grounds were nice and clean and that includes the outhouses. The views along the trail by the lake were spectacular. The caretaker who stopped by to check on us and charge for the extra vehicle was very professional and courteous. Our neighbors were friendly and best of all, finding the campground was easy. They had a nice sized bear box, fire pit/ring and picnic area with table and space adequate for about 8 even 10 people. Water was available from a spigot.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds in Colorado!

Campsite was awesome and had plenty of privacy compared to other sites in the campground. Host was great to talk to and everything was well maintained and clean. Spent the day hanging out on the lake, couldn't ask for a better spot. There are some hiking trails nearby with trailheads within walking distance of the site. Would return.

Arapahoe Bay is such a wonderful area. My campsite was in the Roaring Fork Loop. I had trees for shade and privacy. The site is right on the water with fantastic views of the Indian Peaks across the bay. I spent my four nights visit hiking the surrounding trails with my dog, then paddle boarding in the afternoon and evening. I saw moose and deer while I was there. The campground is quiet and clean. The host is very enthusiastic and helpful. It was a great trip. It took a while to get the site on the water, I have tried for two years to get multiple nights on the water. It was well worth the effort! Making reservations well in advance is highly recommended.

The best of campsites, right by the lake!

Weve been coming here for the last four years and its our yearly tradition for a reason. The site is well maintained and the proximity to the lake is our favorite. The cell reception is exceptional for a campsite.
@YassineC128CCA · Camped on Jun 19, 2024 at Campsite #79
Our stay at campground spot 079 was far from enjoyable. The site itself was poorly situated, with our trailer positioned directly behind the camp hosts, leaving us with little privacy and our neighbors uncomfortably close.On our first night, we played some music before 10 PM, adhering to what we believed were reasonable campground rules. However, the camp host approached us, shouting rudely and demanding we turn off the music. Despite our immediate compliance, she continued to berate us, giving an unnecessary and condescending lecture on proper camping behavior. The camp host lacked very basic customer service skills, as the situation could have unnecessarily escalated.This experience significantly detracted from our stay, and we would not recommend this campground to others seeking a relaxing and respectful environment.

Beautiful place.The campsite is okay, close to trailheads.

Beautiful and quiet campground in the Rockies. The loop we were on had plenty of shade and the facilities were clean. Monarch lake is just down the road with access to many miles of trails throughout the Arapaho National Recreation Area. I will definitely be back!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
