San Pedro Campground is part of Amistad National Recreation Area in Texas (just 18 min northwest of Del Rio, TX) with an elevation of 1,126 feet. There are a total of 31 campsites. The campground is open all year. 28 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 40 feet. All sites are currently first-come first-served. There is a fee of $6.00 per night. Some amenities include accessible, restroom, ramada.

You can’t beat the price to stay here. The dirt road getting to the campground was about a mile long, but it was in great shape. I brought my class C motorhome and had no issues getting into my site. There was no campground host while I stayed here for about two weeks. But I did see regular border. Patrol agents and maintenance crews come through at least once a day. I felt very safe staying here given the proximity to the Mexican border. There are great mobile cellular speeds here. I used PerfectCamp’s StarLink map to save $25 a month by just changing my residential service address. This campground is in the green zone, so I had priority Internet while I worked here. There were no outages for the two weeks I stayed here. I would definitely come back again if I was traveling through south Texas.
