Warriors' Path State Park, located to the southwest, offers camping with lake access and scenic hiking trails. Cherokee National Forest, to the south, provides numerous campgrounds in a beautiful mountainous setting. Grayson Highlands State Park, located across the border in Virginia, is famous for its wild ponies and excellent hiking trails. South Holston Lake, located nearby, offers lakeside camping with opportunities for fishing and boating. Roan Mountain State Park, a bit further away, is known for its stunning mountain views and excellent backcountry camping options.

Hungry Mother Campground is part of Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia (1 hr 11 min southwest of Bluefield, WV) with an elevation of 2,617 feet. There are a total of 113 campsites including 35 cabins. The campground is open all year. 67 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 22 and 85 feet. All sites are currently reservable.
