Just outside the city, the Deschutes National Forest offers numerous campgrounds with access to hiking, mountain biking, and pristine alpine lakes. For those seeking a more rugged experience, the Mount Bachelor area provides dispersed camping options, with access to some of the best mountain trails, skiing, and fishing. The nearby Smith Rock State Park offers unique camping options with dramatic rock formations and world-renowned climbing opportunities. Tumalo Campground is part of Tumalo State Park in Oregon (just 12 min north of Bend, OR) with an elevation of 3,309 feet. There are a total of 86 campsites including 7 cabins. The campground is open all year. 23 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 34 and 56 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. 23 sites have full hookups (electric, water and sewer). Fees range from $21.00 to $77.00. Some amenities include shower, accessible, restroom, firewood, flush toilets. Activities include hiking trails.
