Campsites are nice, driveway slopes are gentle. Piped water to most sites. Corrals in good condition. It would have been nice to have been warned that manure needs to be bagged and placed in dumpsters so we could have brought bags to do so.

What happened to the manure bin? Putting manure in plastic bags and piling them next to a dumpster, which was full, does not seem to be a ecologically sound disposal method. Bathroom were clean. Corrals are falling apart. And sites 10 and 11 don't even have corrals.

Campground was clean, trees had lower limbs cleared, restrooms also clean water was close. Backing into site was difficult due to being on a corner so left via pulling out the wrong way to avoid hitting trees. The corrals were study to.safley hold rhe horses.

Great camp ground and trails. Several hikers from pct stayed at night but all friendly. Our 2nd time staying and we will be back again:)!

We had the best time! Our camp host was helpful (Bruce) but stayed out of our way the rest of the time. It was super clean, had the cleanest bathrooms of any campground ever, and super easy access to the trails. The stalls were nice sized and and very secure gates on them and there was plenty of room for parking (as long as you can actually drive your truck/trailer forwards and backwards).

The campground was lovely, the trails beautiful and fun. The other horse campers were friendly, and the camp hosts were absolutely delightful! Thanks, Joe Graham!

Beware not every campsite that says it's for horses has actual stalls. Of the 4 campsites between my friends and I, only 2 had stalls. The rest had hitching post/highline areas. Really frustrating to deal with that as not all our horses were okay being tied. We also expected water at every site. There was not. Thankfully there was one spigot in the group, but I would not have liked having to go bug people I don't know to get to the water. The bathrooms ran out of toilet paper every single day. Trails were great, just wished we had not had to deal with some of the commodity issues.

We were not aware that horses were required to camp as it did not say so on recreation.gov as far as we know. As soon as we drove in there was a lady that made sure we knew we weren’t supposed to be there. There was no host to talk to so we stayed the night and left the next morning rather than stay for the whole time we had reserved.

Joe graham used to be 5 stars GREAT! However between the lack of responsible horse owners and no one fixing the sites, its gone down hill a lot. We have been going here for nearly 30 years. I grew up going here and now haul my own horses and family here for camping. We pay a lot of money to CAMP. Where is this money goin? The stalls are falling apart. The ground of the stalls has huge boulders in them from the stalls degrading year after year. That makes horse campers make there own stalls outside of the stalls which creates a mess. We have come to sites with poop everywhere. Start charging them for leaving poop. The camp hosts sees what goes on. I complained to mt hood forest service after our visit as well.

The hosts were just wonderful, although they are over worked I think. SO glad to see that there was no overflow from Timothy Lake. We have had some real problems the past 6 years or so and stopped coming to Joe Graham after 20 years. They drag big boats in and are not "happy campers" to say the least. They don't want to be there either and don't know anything about horses and horse etiquette It was just a matter of time before someone was hurt and there was a law suit.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
