This is hands down one of my favorite spots. The water is beautiful and you have a great view. Ive been fortunate enough to camp here when its not busy however this time it was packed and had a lot of people walking through our campsite (007) to get to the water and lose dogs running around (not very peaceful). Mosquitoes are extremely bad in this area so come prepared.

Campground was clean and mostly quiet with respectful campers. Toilets were pretty full but surprisingly not too smelly and I was camped right next to them. Only smelly when the lid was up when actively in use.

We had a very quiet, peaceful stay at the campground. It would it been perfect had it not been for the thunderstorms that rolled in in the afternoons. It was still a beautiful sight to see.

Loved this campground. Super clean toilets. Our site (#13) felt pretty private and had excellent access to the water. Views of the lake and mountains are killer.

The description on the Recreation dot gov website is accurate, this really is a hidden gem. Just be sure to bring extra drinking water if you're doing an extended stay.

The campground itself and bathrooms were very well kept and you get a very nice view of the lake but make sure to bring some bug spray

One of our favorite spots in Central Oregon. Camping there never disappoints. The camp hosts were wonderful this year.

Great hidden campground. Got lucky with the weather and had spectacular views in the morning. Was a bit tough to find in the dark. Don’t trust Google Maps with the location it has the Contorta Group site mixed up with the regular campground. Use the GPS coordinates to get there instead.

Very well kept campground. The bathrooms were very clean as well and stocked. The only issue I had was when the pavement ends it’s a very bumpy ride for the last 3 miles. Don’t plan on going over 15 mph if your pulling a camper. Beautiful scenery and close to some many northwest wonderlands to mention.

There was NO information about the pavement ending and having to drive on a very bad dirt road for over 3 miles. It was a very bad rough washboard road and very, very dusty. We were pulling a trailer and if we had known the road situation, we never would have booked a site there. Also, there was no information as to how low the lake was and how very very dusty (1 inch plus) it was on the ground. It was the worst campground we have ever seen.

The problem with the campground is a lot of people are reserving spots, not showing up and not cancelling. There were quite a few vacant spots available. You people need to do like motels do. If you don't show up on the first night you need to cancel their reservation and keep their money. Then put it back on line to be reserved. It appeared that your campground host is not enforcing this. That host should be letting you know on her tour of the campgrounds so you can put it back on line to be reserved. The host should pull the reservation card at each camp spot so people would know they could use the spot. We have been going to this campground for many years and under the latest guidelines it is extremely difficult to plan a vacation and coordinate with the reservation guidelines.

Campsites are close,( urban camping) garbage was overflowing, bathrooms not the greatest. Lady running the camps had 5 other camps. So she’s not to blame..No camp host.. only thing going for this camp was the beach..

If you are someone who is really looking to get away from people and the city, this is it. The drive in was not as expected; we drove 7 miles on a dirt road, which lead us to the hidden campground. There were very few signs, which was concerning, considering we have never been there before. We were in site 15, Southern Edge, which was further from the lake, but still very close. We did encounter many mosquitos, but the spot was still very nice and quiet. There was one vault bathroom, which was well maintained. Not sure if we would stay again, but it is a good, isolated campground.

was not told campsite # 2 was a walk in campsite , the mosquitos were unbearable and the wind blew the entire time. when you are concerned about eating a mosquito every time you take a bite of your food, it's time to go home. had to park vehicle right in front of the bathrooms. the lake and views were beautiful. made reservations for 2 nights went home after one.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
