Host was fantastic and also helped find a missing thermos in the parking lot. Camps themselves are generic and rustic, but kept very tidy. Vault toilets in each loop are clean as well, and host visits each loop at least twice a day to check on things. Water is by hand pump only so no spigot/hose access. The camps do have a dusty and dry feel to them which seems to add to the summer heat but that does mean less mosquitos so you take the good with the bad! Overall a great camping experience, would do again.

Amy is a great campground host. Great weather and spacious camp sites.

Other than the mosquitoes. It was great. The deepest part of the lake was only 12 feet. Fishing was great. Lots of small mouth bass. Had a great time.

Very helpful and accommodating campground host.

I reserved a spot at Crane Prairie is there is a place to beach the boat directly down from the campsite. A nice feature if you’re going to be there for a week or two.

The condition of this campground is pretty scary. There are dead and down trees everywhere. Instead of removing them, they have just been pulled out of the way. There are down trees on the paths. Very sad.

The campsite (Group Site 10) was so perfect for our party! Camp host Amy was absolutely fantastic! Bathrooms were clean, getting water was a pain but still a fun adventure! I would love to come back and do it again. There was a horrible fire and the air quality was so bad we had to leave early. If you are visiting Oregon- check for wildfires before you leave and take extra precautions!

We loved our stay . All of the families that went with us had kids and it was such a fun place for them. The vault bathrooms were always clean and we never run out of toilet paper.

Good mountain views

This spot was perfect for us because we have kayaks. Just a short walk to the water. Others may not like it because of the foot traffic. A lot of campers from the other loops came to loop 4 because of the nice water access. We didn’t mind :)

Campsites are well maintained. Campground is quiet.

Group of 12 buddies or more, reserve a whole loop for our annual fishing trip. This year we were unable to get our normal loop, but did get loop 2. The site was in excellent condition and the rangers kept the restroom clean and supplied. Fishing was ok but we had good weather, good food and had our annual horse shoe tournament. We also played golf at the local Quail Run, in LaPine.

Standard USFS campground. Picnic Table and Fire Ring. Room enough for 20+ ft travel trailer with easy enough back in. Vault toilet was kept clean and checked regularly. Had a great time birding and watching wildlife. Fishing however in Crane Prairie reservoir was awful.

Campground was clean and quite (with the normal generator campers that go camping to watch TV). Lots of ants though.

Fall is a great time to visit, not many campers so campground is quiet and peaceful. Check out Round Mountain Fire lookout. It's a pretty good hike but WOW!!! what a view.

Everything was great til the camp host on Monday was really rude. She didn't have to be but it really left a bad taste in our mouth, that we left a day early, because we didn't want to encounter her again. Hope to be back but won't be, we will bel looking for a new campground for next year.

Large pretty campsites, not right on the water, but easy access. We did lots of kayaking and some Cascade hikes. We loved the quiet and the spaciousness of the campsites.
@HeikoJ455 · Camped on Aug 21, 2021 at Campsite #4
It was a bit smoky and the water green with algae, but camping was good
@AndrewT621 · Camped on Aug 14, 2021 at Campsite #5
Because of this summer's heat the lake was very unpleasant and not suitable for swimming: full of dense green algal bloom, and lined with dead snails. Campground was OK.
@LynnM574 · Camped on Jul 31, 2021 at Campsite #23
Some sites have access to lake. No sites are on lake shore as map might indicate. Trees between sites and lake. Lake had algae bloom, hard to see the logs and trees lurking beneath the surface. Great bird life to view.
@NaomayO979 · Camped on Jul 30, 2021 at Campsite #10
The lake had the blue green algae bloom so we couldn't swim. Bring lots and lots of bug spray as the mosquito's are unreal. But the actual campsite was nice and spacious with lots of room to play. The bathroom was close by but it definitely needed a deep clean and extra toilet paper as we ended up having to use our own several times due to not being stocked in the bathroom.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
